Outlook
Birch pollen counts are decreasing as the end of the season approaches. However, the risk of high birch pollen counts remains in parts of northern England (particularly Northumbria and Cumbria), Northern Ireland and Scotland. Elsewhere, low to moderate birch pollen counts expected. Moderate oak pollen counts are likely in southern and central parts of England and Wales when conditions are favourable. Oak pollen affects about 20% of hay fever sufferers. Rain will cause pollen counts to decrease.
